As a photographer, I get to photograph a lot of joyful moments, joyful events, joyful milestones in peoples lives.  Engagement sessions are full of that giddy excitement as couples prepare for their wedding day; wedding days just spill over the edges with the joy of promising a lifetime to someone; family sessions are always full of the happiness and craziness that are families.  But maternity sessions bring their own category of joy to the table, and it can be hard to put it into words.  The expectation and hopefulness of soon-to-be parents as they await the arrival of their sweet baby is something special to witness.  Life is about to change in a huge way, but for the best reason.  Last week I got to photograph my dear friend Kelly and her fiance Chris out in the drizzly rain at Mill Creek Park, and I just smile so hard when I look at these images because their happiness and excitement to meet Baby Lucas is palpable.  As Kelly’s close friend, I know first hand just how well she loves and cares for the people in her life, and I know her baby boy is going to be the luckiest little guy ever to have a mama like her.  Our summer evening turned into rainy sprinkles as we shot these, but I couldn’t love these photos more!  Chris and Kelly, I am so happy and excited for you two and the family you are building together.  Baby Lucas is already one loved little guy!  I cannot wait to meet him SOON!  Thank you for playing in the rain with me to capture these memories, you guys are just awesome!
