My love for lifestyle home sessions is real, y’all. I know most families planning for a portrait session are dreaming of the perfectly matched outfits, professionally styled hair and makeup, and all eyes looking at the camera with a picture-perfect smile. I could care less about perfect and the thought of overly coordinated outfits makes me cringe. Give me the tutus, the bedhead, the blanket forts and favorite books you’ve read a hundred times. I want the tickle fights, the dance parties, the cookie crumbs, the toddler meltdowns and the newborn diaper changes. These are the things that matter, because these are the elements of every day life that you’ll look back on years down the road. Who wants to remember perfect?! Perfect is overrated, and it’s probably not even real. Capturing couples, kiddos, and families in their home, just as they are, is the best thing ever. Home sessions capture mothers juggling all of the things they do on a daily basis, and fathers lighting up chasing their kids around the sofa. Home sessions give kids the freedom to be themselves and not have to “pose.” Oh how I love home sessions, and walking into a day in the life of others in their sacred space will never ever get old!
Emily and David, thank you for inviting me along to tell the story of another chapter of your life! Your little girls are sweet as can be, with the BEST little personalities! Eliette is just a doll, hanger and tutu and all! Quinn is perfection <3 You guys are awesome parents, and it is so awesome to watch your family grow and see all the love you share. This Saturday morning was the perfect day with you guys, make room on that photo wall for some updated memories!
