When your proposal story begins with “Well we were on an island in Croatia during our trip to Europe…,” you KNOW you’ve got me hooked!  That is literally how Gina and Rodney began telling me their story!  These two are avid world travelers and craft beer enthusiasts, and I was SO excited to finally get the chance to meet them while they were in Ohio for Christmas!  Gina is originally from the area, and met Rodney when she moved to Wisconsin several years ago.  They have built their life in Wisconsin together, and are incredibly excited to be getting married this summer!  Gina and I spoke over the phone several times over the past few months, but this was my first time meeting her and her fiance in person.  Just gonna say, I’m a little bummed that they don’t live in Youngstown because they are just the best.  When we were brainstorming ideas for their winter engagement session, Gina mentioned that she and Rodney both love craft beer and visiting breweries in their travels.  My wheels started turning and I reached out to Birdfish Brewing Co., a new local brewery that just opened up in downtown Columbiana about a year ago.  The wonderful owners were kind enough to let us come in even though they weren’t open this day, and we got to hang out and enjoy some good conversation and drinks!  Afterwards we bundled up and adventured through some nearby fields and woods.  Can I just say, I love the unique beauty that comes with the winter landscape here in Ohio.  The trees are bare and the colors are muted, but there’s just nothing like it.

Gina and Rodney, I’m so happy I could spend the afternoon with you capturing these moments!  You guys are just plain awesome, and I had such a great timing getting to know you better!  Pretty sure you two are just the cutest things ever, it was impossible to narrow down some favorites to share!  Enjoy!!
