There is nothing quite like a Christmas wedding, especially when you even get snow! Planning a wedding around the holidays can sound a little crazy, but if you can pull it off, there’s nothing more magical! Lizzy and Kevin got married at their church in Dayton, followed by an incredible reception at Top of the Market! Shooting weddings outside of Northeast Ohio is always exciting, it’s so refreshing to see new venues I’ve never been to before! Top of the Market is a historical building in downtown Dayton that just oozes character, with the exposed brick walls and industrial feel. We started this snowy morning at the sweetest little bed and breakfast. Lizzy and her bridesmaids all spent the night here, and I met them in the morning as they were sitting down to breakfast in the Victorian dining room. Such a fun idea, I think EVERY bride and her girls should do this! Laughter and chatter filled the house while they ate breakfast and I began shooting all of Lizzy’s details. If you know Lizzy, you know that there are three things she is doing at all times: smiling, laughing, or singing! Sometimes all at the same time! Well Lizzy’s joy on this wedding morning was palpable, and we may all have been singing right along with her! Her mother, sister, and closest girlfriends helped her step into her wedding gown, and the excitement filled the room – this was really happening!
Lizzy and Kevin opted for a First Look to spend time with each other before their ceremony, and I love that they added an extra little something special to this. Before seeing each other, they sat back to back and read letters that they wrote to each other, and what a sweet moment this was. They laughed, some tears were shed, and the reality that this day they had waited for was finally here brought such joy to their presence. Lizzy made a grand entrance down the staircase to see her groom face to face, and Kevin’s face just lit up when he got to see his bride for the first time. I say it all the time, but First Looks are the best. Lizzy and Kevin got to create precious memories alone together that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to, and that is so valuable. They hugged, they laughed, they (Lizzy) twirled, they prayed. My favorite portraits of the day. Their ceremony was sincere and heartfelt, and they gave glory to God for it all. Afterwards, they danced the night away and partied it up with all of their loved ones!
Lizzy and Kevin, THANK YOU for inviting me to share in your day and tell your love story. It was an honor to do so, I hope you cherish these memories!
