Looking like she stepped out of an old Hollywood film, Amanda nervously adjusted her birdcage veil and added her final pieces of jewelry before seeing her groom for the first time on their wedding day at Gervasi Vineyard. This was a day they had hoped for, prayed for, and waited a long time to celebrate. Ricky stood underneath the willow tree overlooking the water as his bride approached, a smile spreading across her entire face as she walked closer and closer to her groom. Amanda called out his name, and the look on his face as Ricky turned around and saw his beautiful bride is a memory I’m sure Amanda will never forget. They hugged, kissed, laughed, and prayed together beneath the willows, so full of joy and excitement that their wedding day was finally here!
Intimate wedding gatherings have become my favorite, for so many reasons. There is just something about seeing a bride and groom surrounded by their closest loved ones as they exchange vows that feels so very meaningful. Amanda and Ricky’s ceremony took place in the beautiful Conservatory building among the Villas at Gervasi. The glass walls let in the soft sunset light as Ricky and Amanda read each other their vows, with laughter and smiles and maybe just a few tears sprinkled in. Their story is one of redemption and grace and love, with Jesus at the center of it. Everyone who had the honor of witnessing these two lives become one knows that they give all honor to God for His hand in their love story! Ricky told me that they first met when Amanda literally stumbled into his arms, and they are still laughing at how clumsy she is! I had to chuckle as Ricky kept warning Amanda not to fall in her shoes when we were walking through the vineyards taking portraits, haha! After their ceremony, the newlyweds invited their guests to join them for dinner and much celebration at 91 Wood Fired Oven. The night was full of toasts and laughter as Ricky and Amanda mingled with their family and friends and celebrated the beginning of a new adventure.
Congratulations to you, Mr. and Mrs. Scenna! Thank you for inviting to capture your story and share in your joy, it was an honor to do so! Enjoy your honeymoon in paradise!!
