When you listen to Deanna and Matt tell their story, you kind of get the same feelings you do when riding a roller coaster – a lot of waiting in line, a few really big hills, and some sharp turns here and there. There were a few nail-biting moments as they took turns sharing the story (with much laughter and correcting of how the details really went down!), but then I remembered we were taking their engagement photos so it was all going to work out just fine in the end! But seriously though, Deanna and Matt have truly found something special in each other, and their crazy journey to realizing that they were meant for each other makes them appreciate what they have even more so.
I adventured up to Cleveland for an evening with these lovebirds, and what an evening we had!! What a blast! We started off at a park near their home, and then ventured downtown to hit up some of their favorite spots. Any time someone asks me if we can get ice cream during their session, I immediately feel like the luckiest photographer ever. Can we get ice cream? CAN WE GET ICE CREAM?? If you think I’m going to answer no to that question, you are crazy. We made a pit stop at Mitchell’s Ice Cream and I kind sorta felt guilty for cheating on my beloved Handel’s for about half a second until I took a bite of their honey lavender flavor and any regret went away. Anyways….back to Deanna and Matt. I loved getting to know these guys more and cannot wait for their intimate wedding this September! I don’t want to give away all the details, but let’s just say their wedding is going to be anything but traditional :)
Take a look at just a few of my favorites from this awesome engagement session with two amazing people! I guarantee by the time you scroll to the end of this post, you’re going to love Deanna and Matt just as much as I do!
Yep. They are the cutest.
How cool is this chalkboard wall in the middle of the city?!
Deanna and Matt’s shirts are from Clothe Ohio, a company that donates a shirt to someone in need in Ohio for every shirt that is purchased!
Our last spot *may* have been my favorite! We found this bridge next to a restaurant by the water that was playing live music, and nothing is more fun than having some live music to accompany your photoshoot!! P.S. Deanna you are smokin’ in that red dress!
