Well, we made it. HOME. We have actually been home for a week now, but somehow time has been on fast forward and it is flying by. Hugs and kisses and laughter and family and friends. And love. So much love! There’s nothing like being away from home that makes you appreciate it a whole lot when you’re back. It has been good to be back and soak it all in. And this might be hard to believe, but I’ve even enjoyed the rainy days! California sunshine is a wonderful thing, but you miss the rainy days because those are lovely in their own way too.
California made a wonderful home for the past three months, but we were itching to get back to Ohio. Once more, all of our belongings were strategically packed into the car, and San Diego faded into the rearview mirror. Our journey back across the country gave us blizzards, bison, mountain towns, and rainy cities. Did I mention the snow? So much snow! California must have had a fair-weather effect on us because we landed ourselves in the snow without any coats or warm clothes! Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska…..so many states, and so much to see. We soaked it all in, every beautiful mountain and prairie. We lost every toll ticket along the way, and indulged in deep-dish pizza in Chicago. It was a lovely journey home, and we are loving our time in Ohio. In just a few short days, we will be making another journey to our next destination….New Haven, CT! From sea to shining sea, the east coast will be our next home for another three months. I can’t wait to discover a new place, and explore every nook and cranny of our New England home! Until then, enjoy some images from our cross-country journey home…
