One of the most EXCITING things as a photographer is having your work featured! This year I have been making it a point to submit my work to as many magazines, blogs, and websites as I can, and challenging myself to risk criticism and rejection from peers and publications. Putting yourself out there is a scary thing! Picking your best work and offering it to the world for featuring is intimidating. Getting your name out there takes a lot of time and effort, but getting that “acceptance” email in your inbox is like Christmas morning, y’all! It makes me feel so proud of creating work that I love and that I know is my best, and so proud of the AWESOME clients that invite me into their lives to capture some of their most defining moments and events in life. I feel so honored that Senior Study Hall, an inspiring print magazine that celebrates the diversity of high school seniors and inspires positivity and self-worth, included Emily’s senior portrait session in their beautiful pages. This is my first-ever printed feature, and it is a cool thing to see your images printed in a magazine!
I love love love the content of Senior Study Hall’s Spring issue. This is a magazine that is not afraid to embrace different cultures and to encourage high school teens to be PROUD of who they are! They included so many great articles that I wish I had been reading when I was graduating high school, haha! Here are some of my favorite highlights of the magazine that I wanted to share with you – and you can see Emily’s beautiful portrait at the very end!
P.S. be sure to check out Senior Study Hall on Facebook! :)
There’s my girl Emily, featured on the right! You go girl!!
