When I met with Miranda and Phil this past summer to chat about their 2015 wedding and ideas for their engagement session, I immediately fell in love with Miranda’s vision for a “cozy” winter engagement shoot.  Not everyone gets excited about taking portraits during the cold winter months, but I love it!  Winter in Ohio is it’s own kind of beautiful.  Some people just see barren trees and desolate landscapes, but I love the muted color palette and softness of the winter colors.  Even the dreary months can be beautiful, if you look at it the right way!  I met Miranda and Phil at the Old Log Cabin in Mill Creek, one of my very favorite places!  I love the rustic coziness of the cabin, and the warmth of the crackling fire inside.  It was absolutely the perfect setting for these lovebirds!  Miranda basically brought all of my favorite things to include in their shoot – hot cocoa, flannel blankets, snuggly sweaters.  Mmmm!  So good!  We wandered around Mill Creek for the afternoon and had such a great time snapping away!  Miranda and I actually went to high school together, so it was like reconnecting with an old friend!  I loved getting to know Phil and seeing how much fun these two have together – 2 minutes with them and you can see they’re the perfect match!  Miranda and Phil, you guys were troopers in the chilly weather and it paid off!  I love every single one of these photos!  Now we just have to count down to your wedding day in September :)
