CKP Weekend Wrap-Up!

There are a lot of great days throughout the year.  I’m pretty sure we all love Christmas, 4th of July is the highlight of summer, if you’re anything like me you wait 364 days for your birthday to roll around again.  But the day that tops ALL of those days is undoubtedly Easter.  A day to celebrate the fact that Jesus defied death and bridged the gap between God and humans.  Yesterday at Greenford Christian Church Pastor Sean Kelly gave a wonderful perspective on the resurrection.  Two thousand years ago, Jesus’ death on the cross surely seemed like the greatest loss ever experienced.  The Savior the world had been promised came into the world, only to die a horrendous death at the hands of those he came to save.  When I try to think of what this tragedy must have felt like to those walking with Jesus and following his teachings, I can’t even imagine it.  Lucky for us, we live two thousand years after the fact and get the benefit of hindsight.  We have the Bible to give us all the deets on how the story went down, and most importantly….what came next.  Jesus didn’t STAY dead, and his death wasn’t really the end at all!  It was the beautiful beginning to a new way of life, and today we can live with the joy that the old way of life is gone and we have the chance to enter into a relationship with God.  The very God who created the earth and sky and humans and love and relationships wants to know ME?!  And love ME?!  HOLLA!!!  So you can see why Easter is the greatest day there ever was.  I hope you reveled in this joy this Easter weekend, and that we can all carry the hope of what the cross means and the blank canvas we’ve been given.
